It's a contemporary service centering on music and message. After church we welcome guests to an after party and have women's circles, men's circles, and even dancing. Music is integral and central to our ministry. Music is our prayer before the sermon. Our Senior Pastor meditates on the three songs prior to the sermon. Through the music she wants us to move from the secular to the spiritual.
- What is the worship like?
- What's the music like?
- What is expected of members?
- What are your goals?
- What do you believe about Jesus?
- I've heard you're a multi-site ministry. What's that?
- What is your attitude toward other faith traditions?
It's a contemporary service featuring great music and a relevant message. Music is central to our ministry; it is our prayer before the sermon and our launch pad as we close. Exemplifying our inclusive vision, spiritual leaders of other faiths pray over us at the conclusion of the sermon. After the service many gather in small groups for discussion and fellowship.
Over 100 communities across the U.S. connect with each other through the live broadcast of our flagship service, in which our senior pastor, Rev. In Jin Moon, usually gives the message. It is usually broadcast from Manhattan Center in New York City, but sometimes beams from other sites across the country. Each satellite location has a local pastor, ministry teams, educational, cultural and community life, and many have their own worship band.
We get inspired by gospel, contemporary Christian, folk, blues, rock'n'roll and an amazing collection of our own songs. It's a wider variety of music than you will find in most churches - but it's all young and vibrant. We find that God speaks through songs about Him and about the lives of everybody as we strive for true love.
First of all, we expect you to be honest and authentic. If you're ready to get inspired and get involved, so are we. What members do is get Inspired at Sunday service, Empowered by the study of God's word, and Connected by participating in a small group. We naturally Contribute by volunteering, donating, giving back in some way. By these simple lifestyle steps - inspire, empower, connect and contribute --, God comes in and you IiInherit His and Her true love.
Our goal is to bring God's love as a reality in the world. We are convinced that if the world were composed of ideal families, overflowing with divine love, we would be well on the way to world peace. This is because the ideal family is the model for living together in peace. We see this as the day of God releasing the potential of marriage to change the world. The Blessing of marriage is Rev. and Mrs. Sun Myung Moon's essential ministry and it is at the core of our church mission, to help everyone inherit the true love of God.
Lovin' Life has an understanding of Jesus that is totally biblical and deeply affirmative of his lordship. Jesus said that he could forgive sins on earth, and he did forgive sins. This tells us that the cross was not necessary for the forgiveness of sin. So we ask, what if? We rethink the idea that the cross was predestined, as if God removed people's freedom to love Jesus while he was on earth. How would Jesus have responded if people had believed in him as the one whom God had sent, as he wanted them to? We ask this and other obvious questions, and find answers that give us hope for the world.
We believe that God's love is at the core of all religions. Love takes many forms - the love of children, of siblings and friends, of spouses and of parents. Through Rev. and Mrs. Moon, God has disclosed fully parental love - the love of the mother as well as the father. We strive to embody God's parental love for all people, inclusive of denominations and religious traditions. Our message is universal and based on spiritual idealism, clear-eyed realism and common sense.
